Chapter 5: How To Make Tiles Less Obvious

While the second set of tiles in previous chapter were better than they once were, they still rather obviously looked like tiles.

Here's a quick recap:
This is the image we started with:



Next, we converted this image to a tiling image, using the technique described in Chapter 2 of this tutorial:



And when we place tiles of those images next to each other, this is what it came out looking like:

Good, but not great - right?

A simple technique that makes the tiling less obvious, is simply to start out with a larger image. (The larger the image, the less obvious the tiling).

This time, we start with this image:



Next, we convert this image to a tiling image, using the technique described in Chapter 2 of this tutorial:
