PS File Format
PostScript is a language developed by Adobe to describe the layout of a page or pages (typically printed). You may occassionally encounter files contain a stream of PostScript data. These files may typically be sent directly to a PostScript compatible Printer for printing. More commonly, you may encounter Encapsulated PostScript files which typically contain a section of a page or an individual graphic. A technical discussion of basic PostScript graphics can be found in Chapter 24 of Graphics File Formats by David C. Kay and John R. Levine.
