PostScript
PostScript is a sophisticated page description language developed by
Adobe which
is used to control the output of documents to some higher quality
printers, and in some cases for screen displays.
You may occassionally encounter files containing PostScript data, typically:
- PostScript files, which typically contain a stream of
PostScript data (and may be able to be sent directly to a PostScript compatible printer).
- Encapsulated PostScript files, which contain
PostScript commands describing a graphic or section of a page, and in some cases a
preview image.
