Chapter 3: An Easy Way To Make Imagemaps

If you read the tutorial so far, you'll know that Client-Side is the way to go if you want to create imagemaps. But, you'll also probably realize that manually coding the HTML is a lot of work (too much work!) for any non-trivial imagemap.

So what do you do?

Well there's a couple of programs that can help and a real time-savers:

Web Hotspots
With this program, you visually trace out the regions on your images with the mouse (and can also make corrections if you make a mistake), and their program spits out the HTML code that you need.
Trellian ImageMapper
Trellian Image Mapper is the quickest way to create image mapped images for your website. Full support for hyperlinked rectangles, circles and even polygon regions is provided and you can import all your current image maps. After you have created your image map, Trellian Image Mapper will generate the required HTML code ready to be pasted directly into your favorite HTML editor. You can even use the built-in image map previewer.
