UNIX Plot Format
UNIX Plot Files are a very simple vector type format for describing line drawings. The plot file consists of a series of instructions telling the plotter to move the pen, draw lines, draw points, draw circles, arcs, and text labels. Lines can be drawn in a variety of styles: solid, dotted, long-dashed, short-dashed and dot-dashed. A technical discussion of this format can be found in Chapter 22 of Graphics File Formats by David C. Kay and John R. Levine.
